Many people believe that when they are dishonest they have many advantages. They think that they are smart when they use short-cuts instead of following the narrow and time consuming road of honesty. However, this is a misleading belief.

Human beings like to be bad because they have inherited an evil and absurd content in the biggest part of their brain. This is their anti-conscience, in other words, their primitive conscience that didn't evolve like their human conscience. The anti-conscience keeps inducing everyone to prefer what is bad, so that it may have the chance to destroy their human conscience when they agree with its absurdity.

Accepting dishonesty is first of all, very dangerous. Secondly, it will never really benefit anyone, even if in the beginning it may seem to be a smarter solution.

When you are honest you respect the other human beings, and your conscience remains clean. You will also have many advantages in the future because what is well-done will be resistant and always valuable. What is done in a dishonest manner has many defects, and provokes many future problems. You should delay more and work harder in order to do a perfect job, instead of doing everything in a wrong manner, for believing that you'll have many advantages this way.

In the future you'll have to pay for your superficiality and lack of responsibility. You may even have to pass through many embarrassing situations when your mistakes will appear in the surface. You won't be able to hide them forever. You cannot control the world's functioning.

Besides this fact, when you accept doing what is bad, your anti-conscience becomes more powerful, while your human conscience is destroyed by the craziness you accept without criticism. Whatever is bad is also absurd because it generates abnormal reactions and sick situations. If you'll keep accepting what is bad, you'll completely lose your human conscience, and then become mentally ill.

Moral principles are not 'silly' rules. They protect your sanity and dignity. They help you follow a wise philosophy of life, instead of losing your peace of mind and facing despair.

Moral principles were in fact originated by the wise unconscious mind that produces our dreams, and gives us artistic and religious inclinations. Whatever is good in the human behavior comes from the unconscious wisdom. Whatever is bad comes from the anti-conscience's absurdity. There is nothing 'neutral' in our nature. Indifference to what is bad is as harmful as cruelty itself. If we won't be good, we will unavoidably be bad.

The wise unconscious mind that produces your dreams will give you many explanations, until you'll finally understand why you should defend justice. You need the unconscious guidance even if you believe that you should be honest because you live in a world governed by violence, immorality, hypocrisy, and greed. You'll tend to accept dishonesty many times, without understanding your mistakes. The superior unconscious wisdom will teach you how to clearly discern what is good or bad in any situation. This is how you'll keep your peace of mind and mental stability for life.?

Knowing the Danger of Selfishness Empower You to Gain Personal Growth

You must know the danger of selfishness because IT kills one's personality and spiritual growth if you are unaware. A self centered and selfish lives only for himself. He does not know beauty of loving and respecting others, instead he stirred up arguments and quarrels over tiny little matters. All these factors will transform his life into an endless journey in unhappiness. He suspects others of being his rivals and is envious of their success and achievements. He cannot tolerate their happiness and it the end, he poisons his thoughts and pose a threat to the society.

In regardless whether one is wealthy or poor, a selfish man is always being controlled by the world's worst curse, greed. He is never contented with what he possess. Mahatma Gandhi once said, "The world is enough for everyone's needs, but never enough for one man's greed". If one is rich, he worries about his current possessions, like house, car and many others. He will always be thinking about making more money but never prepared to part with his money for a worthy cause. His mind will be at all times pre-occupied with thoughts of being robbed, kidnapped, cheats, death and many others. In contrast, if one is living in poverty, he suffers from not having enough so he is always longing for wealth. When he cannot obtain the wealth which he wants through honest means and hard work, he will resort to criminal ways to get his desires.

Selfishness is being developed by adopting wrong thoughts and also the failure to perceive the realities of life. It is a very destructive emotional force and if no actions have been put in place to reduce this negative emotion, it can cause suffering and misery. Thoughts are forces and selfishness is a powerful negative force that will bring along bad consequences. This is in accordance with the universal moral law, "What we sow is what we reap", therefore pain and suffering are the results of negative thoughts, while happiness is the result of good thoughts.

Our thoughts dominated us and hence a hatred or grudge tears the one who harbours it. A strong feeling of resentment is just like a germ or virus that cause poor health and illness, so remember to stay positive and throw away hatred.

By knowing the danger of selfishness, we must then see the need to cultivate love and compassion. A happy and contented life can only achieved by overcoming selfishness and developing goodwill, understanding and benevolence. We should not pick on other's weakness or mistakes and disregarding their good work and nature.

Nothing outside us can possibly cause an impact on us as much as what is taking place in our minds. It is a fact that "As a man think in his heart, so he is".

Succeed does not come to you, you have to go to it" Using this philosophy, I decided to create this self help website selfempowermentsecrets to push myself to achieve self empowerment and also to motivate all of my friends out there who are reading and staying with me throughout this empowering journey.

Do join me in this enriching journey and empower yourself to achieve anything you want in life.

How much does fear enter into your business decisions and into your personal life?

Fear is a major indicator of separation from Source and Universal Intelligence. When you are experiencing fear, and even worries and concerns, you are not experiencing trust, love, and certainly not joy - you are not connected to Spiritual Source, to the Universal Love and Intelligence that is always flowing and always available.

Fear is one of those things that pops up in our experience totally justified, totally normal, and usually totally automatically. The key is to be conscious and aware of the "automatic" thoughts popping up in our heads in reaction to our experiences in the world.

Here's a very simple example from my life just this week! When I got to Chicago's O'Hare airport for a connecting flight to New York, I arrived to find the flight was delayed 2 hours! My initial reaction was not a positive one - I was meeting people in New York, had a car scheduled, and really wanted to get to my hotel in Connecticut 2 hours earlier - so initially, I wasn't very happy. However (after much practice in my life) I know that everything happens for a reason and is there to serve me.

I shifted my perspective and began looking for solutions and for how this event was serving me: I found out the reason for the delay (inclement weather in New York), I realized that everyone else I'll be meeting in New York would also be delayed, that my car could be easily scheduled 2 hours later, AND that I could actually enjoy my time at the airport (I called a few friends, worked on this newsletter, and had a nice leisurely lunch) - well, the delay was practically a gift and I got to New York relaxed, safe and sound.

Have you ever noticed the mind automatically focuses on what is bad, wrong, or a threat in your life? It does this because its job is survival, to keep you alive. The default of the mind is to chaos, is to the negative, is to what's wrong, scary, and worrisome - because these are the things it interprets as a threat to your survival, and therefore what it must focus on. Running unchecked, this automatic way of seeing the world completely colors your experience in life putting fear at the core with suffering as a result.

The solution to this automatic focus on fear is cultivating consciousness. Conscious awareness. Awareness of the thoughts in your head - as THOUGHTS - and not necessarily as the reality or "truth" of the world you're in. The key is to notice your thoughts as they arise in each moment - especially when it comes to problems and fear-based thoughts. As you notice them, as you observe them, you have them rather than them having you. Now you're in a better position to CHOOSE them - and to choose thoughts that create more joy, love, and fulfillment in your life. More mojo! Remember, the job of the mind is NOT happiness and fulfillment, its job is survival.

Now don't get me wrong, it's good to have a part of ourselves focused on survival. Thank God for that. However, the truth is, we have already survived. And, in modern life and times, the need for this survival based mechanism is hugely reduced. This mechanism has us focused on the problems in our life as if they are ALL life threatening and must be solved before peace, relaxation, and happiness (never mind joy) can be experienced. Well, news flash, there will always be "problems" in your life, and to the extent you allow this mechanism to run unchecked, you will rarely, if ever, experience deep peace, relaxation, and happiness.

So, back to our initial question: How much do fear, worry, and concern run your life?

Try this: Over the next two weeks watch to see how often these type of thoughts come into your awareness. Pay attention to what triggers these thoughts and see if you can allow them to pass before coming to any conclusions or taking any action. Ask yourself "Am I coming from fear or love?" And work to move toward coming from love. Let the fears, worries and concerns melt away and practice consciously choosing your thoughts, staying connected to Source, and keeping your mojo flowing!

Cramming for an exam or quiz will do more harm than allow you to retain important information you need in your head. Here are some ideas that will at least, make it easier for you to study more effectively.

1. Plan what to study. Check all subjects or topics that you need to study and rank them according to which ones you have most difficulty with. The more difficult topics, the more time you should allot to them. The more complex the subject, longer period of time must be given.

2. Set a scheduled time of the weekday or weekends when you should start. Say, not right after a meal of course, because by that time you would feel sluggish as you feel your stomach jam-packed. Perhaps half an hour to an hour after any meal would be fine. And once you have made up your mind, always stick to your schedule.

3. Have a good, comfortable place set for your study time. Your own room would be nice, however, distractions are a complete no-no - MP3, turned-on TV, your laptop, or perhaps your mobile phone and other gadgets at hand. Although some people need soft music to retain information in their heads, basically 'clear' your place of clutter that will add up to the possible interruption in your study time, and have all notes, books, calculator and other materials all set.

4. Give some short breaks for your brain to breathe. A 10-minute break after an hour or so of reading and filling your head with information would be good, so as not to make you 'too bored' or 'too tired of thinking'.

5. Have some goodies, snacks or candies at hand. You can munch once in a while to break the monotony of reading your notes or writing. It will give you some energy too.

6. Inform your family beforehand of your study time so they won't be calling you out every now and then for something they need to ask you about. And also, if you have younger siblings, they would be warned ahead to respect your time.

7. Proper diet is important and always plays an important role in developing efficient study habits. Foods that are rich in Omega 3 and Vitamin E, fish like tuna, green leafy vegetables and peanuts help your brain function more fully.

8. Make sure you get enough sleep when it's time to. Retention of facts will be more difficult for your brain if you are stressed-out by sleeping too late and the next day you are too sleepy to even remember what you tried to store in your head.

9. Know your learning style. If you can remember more of what you have read and studied by talking it out loud then by all means, do it every time you study. If acronyms and made-up stories about your topics benefit your memory well, then it would be to your advantage. Don't hinder yourself from something that you know works best for your studies.

These are just a few of the things you can do to help improve your study habits and taking these in mind can truly help you one way or another to do good with your studies.

Do you have a naughty chair or mat somewhere in your house for your children? Or someplace they have to go to "think" about what they have done? How about for yourself?

Even though I live alone, I have found that I need a designated place in my house where I can go take a "time out" on a regular basis to recharge, relax, focus, and reconnect with myself. You'd think that living alone that part would be easy, but I have just as much going on in my head about things that need to be done and conversations I wish I'd had as a working mom with four kids might have. The issue isn't whether you have more stress than me, the issue is, are you helping yourself or hurting yourself by relentlessly maintaining a harried and hectic pace?

Dr. Daniel G. Amen is a brain function researcher in California. His work proves that the brain is the center of it all - a fit body, good health, strong families, satisfying relationships, and financial success. But we don't take care of our brains - we put ourselves last on the list. And we do so at great unseen risk to ourselves and our health.

The need for us to take a time out isn't limited to once a day, or once a week, and it isn't completely satisfied by "girls' night out."

Think about incorporating time outs for yourself in different ways and on a variety of levels. First, you really need to incorporate short time outs throughout the day at home and at work. We can't race around all day and expect to catch up with ourselves later in a healthy way.

A recent study commissioned by the Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance company found that the impact of sitting at a high-stress desk job all day resulted in a 40% increase in the risk of heart disease. People who have high stress and low control over their lives are essentially a ticking time bomb. So, if you are in an office all day, think of how to take mini-breaks that will refresh your brain.

If you are a stay-at-home mom and have a frantic schedule shuttling kids everywhere and getting all the housework done, think about how you can incorporate little deep-breathing breaks throughout your day. You're most likely not getting enough sleep so you have to turn down the volume and take in some deep breaths to help your body and brain survive that depletion.

You also need to start your day the right way - take a few moments before you even get out of bed to breathe deeply, feel your heart beating, think about the day ahead and focus on only one major task that MUST be done today. And this is also a good time to give thanks - you've got a fresh new day to make a difference in your life and in someone else's life. Starting the day with gratitude will have a profound effect on your mental and emotional health.

Now, in addition to the multiple mini-breaks you build into your day, you also need to take some longer periods of time. You need a place in your home that is for you only - and you need to use it several times a week (at the very least, once a week) to center yourself and ask yourself tough questions. Limit the distractions - no phone, no TV, no Internet. I suggest your journal - write down all the things you are grateful for, the things in your life you love, the things you want to work on and then ask yourself hard questions about whether you have any blockages that will prevent those life changes from happening. Your answers will come to you as you just sit and allow them. If you have trouble with this, get a guided discovery journal to help you. But be clear with yourself and your family - this is YOUR time. Schedule it, honor it, use it.

And you need to work in social time outs. Plan evenings out with just your spouse. The kids will survive with a babysitter. Plan evenings out with girlfriends who make you feel good about yourself and will do more than complain about their husbands or gossip about people you know. If you don't have those kinds of friends, spend some time reflecting on that!

Then there is the BIG one ? soul searching retreats. Do you have at least one time a year built into your calendar where you can leave daily life behind completely and focus on the big picture? If you've never done that, start researching some options. They don't have to be expensive, they don't even have to be far away. But the opportunity to remove yourself from your environment and explore yourself in a new place is such a gift to yourself and your family. Make it happen!

The key to any time out is that it must be about YOU. Does that sound selfish? Well, go back to the age-old example of the oxygen masks on airplanes. You put yours on first and then help your children. Believe that you deserve this time and know that it will make you a better person, a better spouse, a better mother, a better friend.

In her book Simple Abundance, Sarah Ban Breathnacht talks about restoring a sense of rhythm to your life. Since she wrote that book, the Internet has exploded, cell phones are in everyone's hands and are mobile computers. People text rather than talk and get belligerent if you don't respond immediately. Adopt an attitude that the phone and the computer are there for your convenience, not so that everyone else can find you at their convenience. Unplug and recharge for a better body, a better mind and a better life - restore a rhythm to your soul with your time outs.

Our dream or others' dream, any way we live in a dream. The only difference is the one who chooses the dream.

I always prefer the driver's seat instead of being a passenger. When driving, I have the control of movements and the destination. I can also decide to choose a short cut or change the destination. I have control over everything. It is my car, my destination and my dream.

On the other hand, if you are a passenger, you can only watch the view through the window. You go where the driver prefers. You cannot stop the car to take a break or decide to change the route. Everything is out of your control. You have to follow the rules of the driver. This is the driver's car and destination.

Are you only the reflections of others?

You have to make decisions every day. There are ordinary decisions, like having a tea or coffee. Other decisions can be more important like choosing your spouse or career. You can let others to choose for you, what to drink but you cannot let them choose your career or spouse.

Everyone have dreams for others they are connected. Your parents, teachers, friends, your boss and even your enemies-you are lucky if you know who they are- have dreams for you. They all want to see you somewhere they prefer.

People reflect their dreams to others. It is not always a bad thing if it is only advice. You can need guidance sometimes. When these advices become decisions, you will also become the reflections of others. They decide the destination for you and you will start to swim with the stream. Generally, others' dream does not fit you and you do not feel comfortable.

One day, when you achieve their dreams, you will not feel as satisfied or happy, as you should be. What happens then? They can help you to standup when you fall but they cannot take away the pain of falling. You are alone to heal yourself. You have to take yourself out of disappointment and unhappiness of the dreams of other people.

Are you living in a dream or reality?

Are you living in a real world without dreams? Reality is limited with the perception of the environment. Do you think that your brain treat every information the same way? The ratio of the information treated, can be different between people but never 100% reality. Brain also has limited energy and it makes predictions to decrease the use of energy to process information.

Do you still think that you know the whole reality around you?

If we are not living the 100% reality, why should not we live our dreams?

Decide to live in your dream before you start to live in others.

? You should know what you want

? You should decide who you would become

? You should have a dream about your future

Sometimes, living in your dream or dreaming about the future may seem harder than it is. You will always feel others reflections and you can have bias to accept them instead of your dreams.

You should start to dream for yourself immediately. Do not panic, there is always a way.

"Maybe" List

When you cannot connect the pieces in your mind, it is better to categorize them. Categorize the things you are interested in or you are passionate about. Finding out your passion is the best way to achieve your dreams. Passion is the easiest way to follow.

A maybe list will give you an idea about what your dream can be without limiting the possibilities.

? A "maybe" list helps to discover your dreams.

? An "exactly" list determines how to achieve your dreams.

You must keep in mind that you do not have much control on how to achieve your dreams but you have the whole control about the dream itself.

When the "maybe" list is long, colorful and full of your passions, you will see the destination you want more clearly. This will help you notice all the opportunities to achieve your dream without limiting the possibilities.

Make your list and share your ideas with us. Only a word, from your list can inspire and motivate others to discover their passions.

Imagine being able to exercise yourself or your child out of:
ADHDlearning and behavioural problemsmood disorderseating disordersdepressionanxietyPTSD

in the comfort and privacy of your own home. Neurofeedback (also known as neurotherapy, neurobiofeedback, EEG biofeedback and brainwave biofeedback) is a powerful way to train you and/or your child's brain that is fun, easy, non-invasive, safe natural and has no adverse side effects.

This is a scientifically proven process that uses one or two tiny sensors on your head that pick up brainwaves in real time and sends them to the computer where they are instantly analysed by the software and used to control brain games or the size of a DVD screen. So you are using your brain power to train your brain...no hands just brainwaves!

When Greg, 12, first began neurofeedback he had all the usual symptoms of ADHD: he was hyperactive, aggressive, had mood swings, poor self esteem and struggled with his behaviour and school work. By the time he finished six months later he was captain of his football team. His confidence had sky rocketed, his school work had improved dramatically and he was much calmer. "It's incredible how my son's life has improved after doing neurofeedback with Jonathan," said his mother.

Neurofeedback uses one or two tiny sensors that pick up brainwaves and relays that information wirelessly to the software, which allows you to control games or the size of a DVD screen with your brainwaves. Your brain knows that it has to make the graphics play or it has to keep the DVD screen big. This gives your brain feedback about its own functioning as its brainwaves that are driving the changes. Giving your brain this feedback allows it to re-regulate or re-tune itself. It makes changes to its own functioning that relate to improvements in:

Its so easy with neurofeedback you or your child can watch DVDs and letting your brain do the work!

Neurofeedback can remediate:
ADHD and ADDOCDlearning disordersdevelopmental delaybehavioural problemsPTSDanxietydepressionmood and eating disordersangersleep problemsmigrainesheadaches

This is possible because the brain is involved in all of these problems.

Neurofeedback is a scientific field Neurofeedback is part of a scientific field that goes back to the late sixties. It has evolved rapidly in the last 10 years swept along by the tremendous advances in neuroscience and the rapid improvement of computer power and speed. It is cutting edge science based on natural healing.

What medical and psychology researchers are saying Professor Frank Duffy MD, of Harvard Medical School said,"The literature, which lacks any negative study of substance, suggests that EEG biofeedback therapy (neurofeedback) should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy, it would be universally accepted and widely used."

O Lord my God, I cried to You and You have healed me.
~Psalm 30:2 (Amplified).

One of the perennial questions amongst those seeking to be faithful is: "Will/can I be healed?"

Of course, our Lord has a solitary answer: the emphatic, "Yes!"

There seems to be two broad situations where we desire healing: 1) When we have some ailment beyond our will; and, 2) When we're afflicted with something that has so far infirmed our will.

IS THE ISSUE SIN OR NOT? - AN IMPORTANT QUESTION

There are fervent schools of thought for both providential healing and not, and there are many who sit between - able to conjure thought both ways.

The fact is both schools overplay their biases and somewhere in the middle is where God's truth lies.

The key idea regarding the definitiveness of healing in Jesus' name is the issue of sin. We all need healing from our sins, despite the matter of many things we'd like healing for that have nothing to do with sin - like congenital health and medical problems or unfathomable losses.

The big differentiation between 'sin and not' is our will.

If we have any sense of control over the healing, God is able to quickly achieve his side of the bargain - it's then up to us. For matters beyond our wills we're at the beckon call of God alone (and whatever help we can get from the medical and health-care fraternity as well as our coping skills to accept).

Sometimes faith-healers are able to help; some faith-healers literally are miracle workers, working with the Holy Spirit to achieve healings with remarkable consistency.

THE ACT OF 'RECEIVING' HEALING

Granted that we're after healing, and our wills can adjoin with God's to heal us, we have a great deal of control over the outcome.

The question must always be: "Do I really want to be healed of this?"

Many times, by our actions, we'll forego the acquisition of healing - the thing that God's giving us; the healed outcome - for another run around the hellish track of bondage to the sin. We choose to sin again, or, at some later date we backslide into old and inferior practices.

The act of receiving is paramount.

It is the continual state of agreeing with being healed. It's a continuation of the first agreement we had, or made, with God that we'd do it - in his name.

We see, here, that 'receiving' the healing is both a once-off transaction and a continual transformation of us into the New-Life reality that God's predestined for us to have; an ever-improving metamorphosis toward the likeness of Christ.

Life coaching is not the sole means for a person to change his life but it is surely the best. Some people wonder why they find themselves stuck in some stages of their life. They know where they want to go and what they want to do. They even know how to do it. But still, they see themselves unable to move forward. A life coach can help people who are in this stage. He will not only help a person know why it happens, he will also help him get into action and start moving forward.

3 Reasons That Hold Back A Person From Changing

The fear of leaving the comfort zone. Change generally requires moving out of the comfort zone. It necessitates moving to an unknown, unchartered phase of life. And this can really be stressful and difficult. A life coach is a person's greatest ally during this time. He will be capable of cheering the person up to keep on moving. He is also the best guide during times of complacency and doubt. His presence will enable him to stay on track. The coach is the best person to show him what he will miss out once he steps back and he will also be capable of giving him the picture of his future once he succeeds in this endeavor. His lack of ample idea or strategy to get to where he wants to move to. A person who sees the need to change usually does have an idea of how to do it. Unfortunately, it doesn't always happen to be the best means to do so. Most often than not, the strategy is either totally wrong or somehow incomplete. If the plan is not certain, the change can be really stressful. Through life coaching, a coach can help the client have a clear and complete strategy. His tendency to work through mind games. The mind controls the pains that people go through. It can play games and make it think as if the situation that a person is in is tolerable. Once a person sees his current situation as sufficient, he will then be hindered from thinking that it is a lot better to change his ways and circumstance. As the coach, you should bring him to his sad reality and make him decide to pursue the change he should make.

Life Coaching Solution

Life coaching makes a person look forward instead of backward. A life coach helps a person see what is happening at the present, specially the problematic ones. He also leads the person to change the present circumstance. With a coach who shows you the cost of not getting your goals, you can surely identify a means to get it. You can depend on your inner strength to keep on changing for the better.

As a success speaker I bet I can guess how you feel when you sit down as a audience member - yawn - you are thinking, "Prove to me why I should sit here and listen to you."

How many PD events have you attended, been wowed by the speaker, vowed to do something different and the next day things were exactly the same?

How many times have you gone to an event and yawned your way through, daydreaming the whole time?

How many binders do you have at the back of your closet from PD days of the past? Our time and attention are so valuable, let's not waste one more moment.

If I am the motivational speaker for your conference, it is my job to get you excited about moving into action, but sometimes we are accused of being like Chinese food... it fills you up but leaves you hungry again in a couple of hours! For me, there is no satisfaction in getting a standing ovation if the next day nothing is different for the folks who were standing! I get a high when, weeks or months later, people email me to tell me specifically what has changed as a result of our time together. Yes, it is our job to inspire, educate and engage you, but you are the only one who can motivate yourself. Of course, you must find your own reasons. You can have all the insight and ideas but at the end of the day YOU are the one that has to do it!

The goal is to move from knowing to growing. To ensure you get the most from your next in-service, PD or even an article;

Success Speaker Tip #1 - Set an intention that you will find something of value-even if it's just a quote, a line, a spark of an idea. If you go in thinking...I already know this, that won't work, we've tried that before, etc- you are doomed to waste your time.

Success Speaker Tip #2 - Ask not, "Can I use this information?" ask, "How many ways can I use this information?" Look at everything you do as a learning opportunity and your job is to ask HOW can I use this information, not IF you can use the information, your job is. There is no one right or perfect way for everyone, take the information you get, twist it, turn it, combine it and make it work for you!

Success Speaker Tip #3 - Write down, highlight or mark the ideas of interest. As soon as you can afterwards transcribe your ideas in to a journal or computer file.

Success Speaker Tip #4 - Commit to practicing/implementing one idea- use it post it note, if it's a big idea, break it down into small manageable tasks

Success Speaker Tip #5 - Tell someone else, find an accountability buddy so you can help each other. For a real life example, I was reading the business book, Blue Ocean Strategy where they taught a technique to create a unique business idea, it didn't 'fit' for my business but I thought it would be a great tool for life, too. If I had just been thinking if can I use this tool to build my business, as they suggested, I wouldn't have used it-but I thought, how can I use this tool in other ways - and it worked!

Here is the tool in a nutshell: Grab a blank piece of paper and divide a paper into 4 quadrants, label each quadrant as follows:

? Eliminate
? Raise
? Reduce
? Create

For today's issue, getting more out of your PD experiences, list things in each area that you can do to help you accomplish this. For example, you could eliminate negative preconceived thoughts about the event beforehand, raise the number of times questions you ask, reduce the distractions by not sitting with your usual group of people and create a follow up plan to put your learning into action! Simple and effective.

Here is the insight, straight from the success speaker... since you have to be physically present at these events anyway - you deserve to take something home. Even if the presenter doesn't thrill you, even if the room is too hot, the chicken is rubbery and the giant chocolate cookies are gone. Go with the intention of hearing a takeaway that was meant just for you and I bet you will find it!

Facebook, over the past several years, has been criticized for destroying marriages, careers, invading our privacy and a barrage of other social ills. These types of social dysfunction, frankly, have been around before two Ivy League students created Facebook. It has become the new scapegoat for our own moral downfalls. This is not the first time that a new phenomenon has been blamed as the weapon to destroy the pure ethical and moral attitudes in America we proclaim exists in our denial ridden, wannabee country. The moral destroying agents associated with Facebook was also thought of about Rock and Roll (Elvis Presley), Hip Hop (Rap), and cable TV. These are just a few examples of new misunderstood and un-controlled, mind manipulative media that has been villainized in the last 50 years. What value does Facebook have in our lives?

In a letter to Bill W., Dr. Carl Jung wrote," I am strongly convinced that the evil principle prevailing in this world leads the unrecognized spiritual need into perdition, if it is not counteracted either by real religious insight or by the protective wall of human community. An ordinary man, not protected by an action from above and isolated in society, cannot resist the power of evil, which is called very aptly the Devil." Carl Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology. Dr. Jung for many years believed we have two personalities. One introverted and the other extroverted. The introvert and the extrovert are the main components of personality according to Jung. The introvert is quiet, withdrawn and interested in ideas rather than people. While the extrovert is outgoing and socially oriented. For Jung, a person that had a healthy personality could realize these opposite tendencies within himself/herself and could express each. His work has inspired many of the greatest psychologists in religion and literature.

Modern technology has allowed us to work harder, meet new people remotely, conduct of our banking needs, send mail, fulfill some of our secret passions and even earn a degree all online with no social interaction. Ten years ago most of these tasks were performed outside the home and included interaction with people and continued development of our extroverted personality. The world has become more introverted and the ability to block out the world has become easier. I can walk around downtown with my ipod blaring sounds of Z-RO (southern rap star) or Anthony Hamilton (R&B Singer) silencing outside noise and stimuli from the world. This type of behavior can occur quite easily and without intention. It becomes easier to stay at home in your jeans and sweats with a cold drink and bypass all of the deviants that wait outside the comfort and safety of your home.

Initially, Facebook was a tool that allowed me to find old friends, stay connected with current friends, and observe how people were living their lives. I eventually became a member of a private group on Facebook, which consisted of about 30 to 40 people. The people in this group have become friends and confidants. During times of sorrow, confusion and despair we encourage and advise each other on different paths to restore our balance in life. Dr. Jung wrote about the need for a community type atmosphere for our development and maintenance as human beings. Absence of a community and spiritual life leaves us defenseless against life and its moral ills that only depletes our energy and spirit. Once depleted, it can quickly lead to depression, addiction, and more intense deviations from or own acceptable behavior. This group of small loving people has become an extended family without the judgmental attitudes that are entangled with our biological family. This family is a family of choice, which some call friends!

The small private group on Facebook is meeting a need that is in synergy with my fast paced life. It allows me the ability to supplement my interaction with others without leaving my home. The feeling of being isolated and alone in this tumultuous world subsides because of my spiritual belief and my small community of friends I have on Facebook. The experience of watching people turn to the group for support and advice has been more satisfying then I could have ever imagined. The words, 'protective wall of the community', used by Jung correctly describes the feeling and attitude I have experienced from my extended family. It certainly gives me a feeling of ease and comfort knowing that I am not defenseless and if needed, have a support system in place for those seemingly rough times.

My experience on Facebook has been a positive one. Facebook has not made me conduct myself in any form or fashion that has not been in conjunction with my faith and belief system. To believe that Facebook is the lithium that has energized others to conduct themselves in a way that they have never acted before is a farce!

* The author, Eugene E. Brooks, has just completed his book - Half Black half White - Finding me and My Place in America, which addresses the issues related to childhood sexual abuse, addiction and being bi-racial in America. The book chronicles the author's battles with addiction that lead him from being homeless to graduating from law school nearly thirteen years ago.

I've been thinking lately about how important it is to have a balanced diet... and not just for food.

When I'm eating I am conscious of the mix of carbs, proteins and fats I need to keep my body and mind working. I aim to eat a pretty balanced diet, to avoid too many saturated fats and refined sugars and to eat good quality food. I love tasty food and really enjoy eating out with friends and family, and I'm also aware that the food I choose to eat has an impact on my ability to be fit and strong enough to do the things I want to do. I'm not a born-again food saint, I eat chocolate and cake if I really want to, but I've realised they're not the best fuel for me to use on a regular basis.

Although my main focus is Executive Coaching, I also work with a variety of private clients, for all sorts of reasons. Recently I have worked with a number of clients to help them overcome an unhelpful relationship with food, and I'm realising that some people also have an unhelpful relationship with FEEDBACK.

Often my coaching clients might tell me that they need feedback, or love to get feedback, and I am interested to understand what feedback means to them. After all, one person's "constructive feedback" may be another person's "unprecedented character attack"...and sometimes the person who tells you they don't get any feedback may be the same person whose boss says "they don't take feedback well". Other people tell me they're too frightened to give feedback to someone, because they don't want to have a "difficult discussion".

So what similarities do I see in the way people relate to food and feedback? I see people who face the following issues

using feedback for comfortusing it as a distraction from their concernsno idea of portion control, sometimes there's not enough and sometimes there's enough to feed an armyexpecting a large proportion of it to be sugary and sweet...and we all know a diet of sweet, sugary stuff doesn't help us to get anywhere in good shapeusing it to punish themselves, a bit like the view my grandmother used to have of medicine: If it tastes nice it can't be doing you any good.

However, other people genuinely believe feedback is a useful tool to keep them on track, and help them to get where they want to go. To me, that feels like a more helpful relationship to have with feedback. So how can you learn to have a healthier relationship with feedback?

How about considering feedback as FUEL? In the same way that you might plan a journey, think about the destination you're aiming for (the purpose or GOAL) think about how much food (feedback) is needed to get you there...put too much in and you can't eat it all, too little and you can't make the destination. If you run the fuel down too low for too long, energy levels sink and yet, when you do get more food, you may find you have a much reduced appetite. If it's a long journey and one meal won't get you there, factor in the need to make regular top-ups.

Whether you're the person giving feedback, or the recipient keeping this analogy in mind may help you get the best value out of the feedback.

If, on reflection, you realise the "feedback" you were about to give is really just enabling you to vent your spleen about something that hasn't worked, or to give someone a mouthful because you're in a bad mood then DON'T GIVE IT! It's not fuel and it's certainly not feedback: it isn't getting anyone anywhere, and is far more about you than about the behaviour of the person at whom you are venting.

To go back to food for a moment - this behaviour is like "comfort eating"; it might feel good at the moment you're doing it but 9 times out of 10, you feel much worse afterwards. The difference here is that if you're doing it with "feedback" instead of food, it's probably not just you who feels bad afterwards. Take a deep breath or go for a walk, or both, and think about the best way to get to the place you're aiming for.

The best feedback focusses on the Behaviour, not the Person. The person is far more than their behaviour and it is the behaviour that you want to affect, whether to let someone know that they did something that got great results, or to let them know that, to get better results, something needs to change.

If you feel you have been giving the same feedback over and over again, then perhaps you need to change the way you give the message. You wouldn't serve up exactly the same meal to someone over and over again, would you? Think of other ways of getting the message across, use examples, use language that the other person relates to, ask questions to check for understanding, and consider the possibility that the person you are talking to may have a real appetite for change.

Perhaps taking a different view of feedback will make it feel like less of a mouthful in future?

An extra income from a home based business won't hurt especially if you earn more through it than your full time job.

Many Americans decide to just focus on their ventures to make sure it will reach their target and what they have invested will turn to ashes. Unfortunately, however you focus without really knowing what to do will just result to failure. Equipping your self with home based business operation is the answer to success.

If you are still having doubts in the type of home based business to pursue, here are some suggestions that according to experts can be the next big thing in the next 20 years.

1. Web management service

Yahoo rates this as one of the top 10 home businesses for the next few decades. As the Internet expands and does not seem to stop for the next century, the demand for web content services does not have any way but up.

By offering services such as technical writing, web content writing, graphics designing, webmaster services and virtual office management, you can earn more than a full time employee in the same field. You just need to be computer savvy, an able computer or two with necessary applications and software's, connections and ability to give what is being asked of you. You can also do manpower pooling if the demand increases.

2. Specialty baking and cooking

As technology gets more complicated by the minute, the health consciousness of Americans also jumped at a significant rate in the past decade. The demand for healthier foods and more artistic presentations are projected to skyrocket starting this decade.

Foods are staples and for as long as human continue to eat; you will have the chance to grab that niche market.

3. Fitness training

Offering your own knowledge in a certain field is probably the cheapest way to do a home based business. As you have your whole time allocated according to your will, you can earn more without spending the whole day for it. Training services include yoga coaching, workout and sports training and even diet coaching.

4. Cleaning service

Modern appliances make cleaning an easy task compared to how you did it a few decades ago. However, the time a family can allot to their cleaning responsibilities also decreases making laundry businesses and housekeeping services thrive. Almost all kinds of cleaning services can be offered so better choose now to start that home based business.

5. Technical repair service

Everybody has a cellphone, computer, music player and other gadgets. The boost in demand of these products also increases the demand in repair services. Microsoft Company is even reportedly planning to train people for catering to Microsoft-related problems. Remember that warrantee expires. That is where you enter the picture.

6. Mentoring, Coaching And Training

In today's modern world more and more people are now turning to the Internet looking for ways to make some extra cash or even a full time living. But the majority fail, the reason is because they have no formal training on how to run a business online. The people that have success online are the ones that find a good mentor or coach to get some training. Once you have the knowledge behind you on how to run a home based business, you can then offer your knowledge at a price.

Anybody can start an online home based business these days, but it does not mean you will make money. So your job would be to point them in the right direction, show them how to get targeted traffic to their website, then turn that traffic into leads, then turn the leads into an income, in other words mentor them on how to market their business. This type of home based business is priceless.

Throughout the ages, people have used unsent letters for healing and renewal. Therapists tell us to write to our deceased parents, pour out our hearts and burn the letter. Friends tell us to "write off" unhealthy relationships. Even businesses "write off" bad debt.

To write an unsent letter for personal wellness, simply address a sheet of paper or a page in your journal to the intended receiver. Then take 15 to 20 minutes to really let go and explore your feelings and thoughts. In your writing, you might tie your emotions to various situations or experiences. How has your relationship with this person affected who you would like to become, who you have been in the past, or who you are now? Is there any unfinished business? Are there questions that have been left unanswered? What are the most significant positive experiences with this person? How will you as the writer of the letter change as a result? The point is to be completely honest with yourself. Remember that the entire purpose of the writing is for you and you only. When you are finished, you may choose to reread the letter, or not. It's your choice. Either way, simply fold up the paper. Burn it. Tear it. Shred it. Flush it. Toss the pieces into the ocean or let the wind take them away. Just do not mail the letter.

The power of the pen, and especially the unsent letter, is especially meaningful for people in recovery from substance abuse. Be it alcoholism, drug addiction, food addiction or gambling trouble, expressive writing can assist in one's recovery journey.

For this article, I have outlined the 12 steps from Alcoholics Anonymous and juxtaposed the writing opportunities in each step - several of which include the Unsent Letter.

Step Number

Step Description

Writing Opportunity

1

We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.

Write out your drinking/drugging biography since the beginning. It could take the form of a letter to your former "drinking self," or to a bottle or drug.

2

Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity

Write a letter in gratitude to your Higher Power.

3

Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Again, writing to God - this time writing the Third Step prayer.

4

Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves

Step 4 is one of the steps that has the most writing involved. Writing in this instance is in the form of lists and explanatory sentences.

5

Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

While the actual step work is usually face to face, write in your journal about your feelings and emotions after taking this step.

6

Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

The writing here is listing making of character defects.

7

Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Again, letter writing to God is an acceptable way of completing this step.

8

Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

Writing the list here helps in personal willingness and faith.

9

Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

The unsent letter is a powerful means of making amends in many cases. If someone is deceased, an unsent letter is a positive way of expressing remorse and asking forgiveness. If a direct amends would injure someone, an unsent letter describing the incident in question is a perfect way of making amends.

10

Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Developing a regular journaling practice is a positive, healthy way of tracking personal inventory. Further, journaling entries can provide valuable insight into recurring themes and growth.

11

Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Writing your own prayers, poems and even songs is a wonderful way to explore meditation and one's relationship with a Higher Power.

12

Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Visit http://www.writetohealth.com and the Write to Recover workshop for ways to explore the Recovery principles and practices in our lives through the written word.

In almost every step, recovery work involves expressive writing, and most certainly the Unsent Letter. Write on, everyone!

The motivational speakers are extraordinary professionals capable of motivating a team that does not perform. These speakers would suggest new techniques for finding more sales or new ways to maximize profitability. The motivational speaker’s talk must be the preliminary point for discussions among the workers. New ideas would be thought of based on the speaker’s talk and the knowledge he or she passes on.
Motivational speakers abound and it is not difficult for any business organization to find a suitable motivational speaker who will infuse a new spirit and lift the sagging morale of its employees…

Motivational speakers are available in diverse fields such as arts, sports IT, human rights, sales, marketing, management, etc. Before hiring the motivational speaker, be clear in your mind what exactly you expect to gain from the speaker. You might want your sales team to be revamped with fresh ideas or you might desire your business team to bond together more effectively. Make sure you have informed the speaker so that he could modify the talk to your business’ needs.

Business conferences are usually conducted in a highly charged atmosphere putting further pressure on the already stressed out employees. Therefore, the first thing a professional motivational speaker does is creating a relaxed atmosphere. He is an expert in creating a friendly and pleasant atmosphere and make people sit up to listen. The motivational speaker invariably wins the confidence of the audience because of his unobtrusive and easy manner of speaking.

Professional motivational speakers are indeed a rare breed of people who combine the power of oratory and a little bit of histrionics to make the listeners get into the right frame of mind before drive home the pertinent points. They inspire the audience with their knowledge of mass psychology and their intuitive powers.
